Goodbye Utah

It is supposed to snow this weekend.
ON my graduation day.
chancesnow
Friday
Snow showers likely. Highs in the mid 40s. Chance of snow
60 percent.

AND Seth and I have to pack up our truck on Monday.
In the mud and the snow.

As if Utah couldn't resist one final cruel joke on me
Goodbye Utah.
And good riddance!

Graduation for Seth

Seth graduated on Friday.

Here is the thrilling re-enactment.

He graduated Cum Laude.
(This is the NERD HOLE)
That means he's smart.

Congratulations Seth!

My Mother

Yesterday was my mom's birthday. I think that, like most mothers, she often questions whether she has been a good mother to her children. In response to that, I say that I don't think I could've had a better mother. She's always been a wonderful example to me and has always been there to help set me on the right course in life.

One of my favorite things about her is that we always have fun together.

Or maybe, in other words, I can always get her to do funny things with me that she wouldn't normally do as a dignified, mature woman.

Happy Birthday Mom!!
You're the best!

Happy Birthday Adam

Happy (one day late) Birthday, Adam!

So Adam is one of the most creative people I've ever known.
Here is a picture of him in a very cool homemade pirate costume.
I guess that one byproduct of his creativity was that as children, he would always sincerely tell us interesting facts that were actually complete lies. Even now, every once in a while, I find out that there are things I've believed my whole life that were actually just made up by Adam. I guess that's what older brothers are for!

What Seth just said to me.

"You smell like a freshly washed and polished baby. "

Polished?

Avoiding Homework

I don't want to do my homework.
Would you like to waste some time as well?
These are some of my favorite music videos.

And finally, this one is one of my favorites but youtube won't let me embed it here.
You should still go watch it.

Reasons

A few reasons why I am so excited to move out of Utah.
1. It snowed on Thursday.
2. It snowed on Saturday.
3. It snowed on Sunday.
4. It snowed on Monday.
5. It snowed today.

All of those days were in April.

APRIL.

Shadow Sculpture

As promised, here is a description of Seth's shadow sculpture.

Step 1: Enroll in a Teachings of Isaiah class at BYU. Have a large final project as part of the syllabus.
Step 2: Set up the light and what the shadow should look like.
Step 3: Wear sunglasses so as not to damage your eyeballs
Step 4: Start adding stuff to the sculpture to fill in the shadow.
Step 5: Throw on some Hebrew letters for symbolism. (Isaiah would have approved.)
Step 6: Finish.
Step 7: Write a paper detailing the symbolism between your project and the book of Isaiah. (As in, the jumbled hot glued pile of popsicle sticks represents the confusing writings of Isaiah, the light represents the Spirit, the hidden shadow image represents the message of Christ's Atonement that is the core of Isaiah's writings. It's neat-o.) (Written with help by Seth.)
Step 8: Turn it in. Have your wife write a blog about it. Have everyone think it's exceptionally creative and cool except for her annoying twin sister.

The End.

My Brain Just Exploded.

Here is the sentence I just read in my assigned reading:
Accordingly, acts of play may be defined as those which are modeled on acts that are "not play," but which are understood not to communicate what would be communicated by these acts if they were performed unplayfully."
Whaaaa???

Sorry for all the short, lame posts I've been doing.
All of my energies are being sucked up by school work.
Wait a couple more weeks, it'll get better. I promise.

And no, even with the context that sentence still doesn't make sense.
