Last weekend I wasn't feeling good and T felt the urge to pull everything out of every drawer and shelf in the house so it's taken me most of the week to put our house back in order.
I can't bring myself to do the last few things on my list because I LOATHE doing them.
Does anyone want to come to my house and do it for me? I would pay someone to just do these things.
They are:
1. Washing all the pots and pans that don't fit in the dishwasher. This is THE WORST.
2. Cleaning the tubs. I don't mind cleaning the rest of the bathroom. Just the tub.
3. Putting new trash bags in the trash cans. Emptying the trash I can do. It's putting bags back in that I seriously hate.
4. Vacuuming the edge of carpets. If you see lots of crumbs and dirt there when you come over, please don't mention it. I never do this.
Am I the only one with such strong feelings about cleaning? Please say no.
You are not alone! I have the same issue with my tub. I haven't deep cleaned it in two or three months. I did about half of it the other day, but it was too uncomfortable with my stomach pressing into the tub edge so I quit. I know it's terrible, but I just don't care. You're pregnant. You have the perfect excuse! ha
ReplyDeleteI hate tubs and trash bags too. Sometimes I just use other garbage cans until I absolutely have to put a trash bag into main garbage can. And I don't vacuum the edge of carpets either. Don't worry.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteI hate cleaning floors. Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming... If it has to do with a floor I hate to do it.

ReplyDeleteEither it's genetic or learned behavior because those are the very things I HATE to do. Oh and when T is old enough you'll probably add "Making Lunches" to the list. It will probably be #1.
ReplyDeleteTubs are the WORST. Mine hasn't been seriously cleaned in way too long. I don't mind putting the trash bag in the trash can though if it means that Adam just took out the trash and I didn't have to do it. I'd much rather deal with a clean, empty, trash bag than a dirty, full one =)
ReplyDeleteI'll wash your pots and pans. Living without a dishwasher, you realize that pots and pans are actually fairly easy compared to whisks, beaters, and potato mashers. And I like putting new bags in - I hate taking dirty bags out. When we live next door to each other we can trade off for this job. Vacuuming is my favorite chore. Huh. I thought we would have had more in common. haha. But agreed - tub washing is of the devil. When we moved in I didn't wash them for a few weeks. gross. Also, I like that this is the longest comment ever and the most comments ever for a blog about cleaning.
ReplyDeletehaha. i loved reading the comments as much as i loved the blog...especially the families. I think i will dread making lunches the most too, since i hate doing it for myself, so i def. have that in common with mom. i have in common with amanda that ive also been living without a dishwasher for over a year now and i love round objects to just stick under hot water and scrub with a basic soap sponge. easy peasy, plus you don't have to wait for the dishwasher to produce clean dishes. i like vacuuming, but i also avoid and hate using the side suction cup so i agree with you there! and i heartily agree about the tub as well. its fine when you have the right product and the right tub, no problems. i happen to have a really really weird plastic tub with a scrubbed base which is meant to give the floor a better grip, but it just makes everything stick to it so i can't use microfiber cloths OR sponges and talk about trying to clean it!
