We took a quick day trip to the beach to visit some family and it was awesome.
Even T, my previous beach-hater, loved it.
I cannot get her to not do that face when I pull out the camera.
H enjoyed getting her feet wet and eating the fistfuls of sand I wasn't quick enough to stop.
And one day at the beach was entirely too short for us.

Play Kitchen
I had decided to make both a quiet book and a play kitchen for T's 2nd birthday, and I decided this only about three weeks before her actual birthday.
I know. I don't know what I was thinking either.
Obviously I was WAY overestimating my abilities, because her play kitchen was only finished two days ago*. Seth and I have been working on it random evenings and weekends for the past month. We probably could have gotten it done a lot sooner but once the birthday deadline passed we weren't quite so determined to spend all of our free time on it.
*It's actually not completely finished. Seth is still going to add chains to the oven door so T won't break it off - as I have already caught her trying to stand on it a couple of times. But I am counting my part in this officially DONE.
Before: Random piece of furniture we inherited when we first got married.
Getting taken apart and cut down to size.
Don't I look like a natural woodworker? No?
Thankfully Seth is.
Put back together and sanded.
Painted. This is the part that dragged on.
Getting ready to put all the doo-dads on.
After: Fabulous Play Kitchen!
And now I am never making anything else for T.
She loves it though. So I guess it was worth it.

Toddler Talk #2
1. After finding Seth's sunglasses and putting them on: "Look at me cool. Look at me cool."
Then she sang: "And on the farm he had sunglasses. E-I-E-cool me."
2. After Seth helped her brush her teeth: "I'm so proud of you! Daddy, I'm so proud of you!"
3. After I spent the morning chasing after my two children instead of fixing my hair: "Momma, your hair is ca-raaaazy."
Gee thanks T.
4. Every time she sees a fly: "Oh! That dang fly! You want to kill him?"
5. After I asked her to please clean up her toys: "Mommy, what are you talking about?"
Then she sang: "And on the farm he had sunglasses. E-I-E-cool me."

Head Shaking
This is H's latest obsession.
She likes to do it during mealtime, which makes it especially fun to try and feed her.
Seth and I think it is just about the cutest thing ever.
And I promise we are not biased.

Happy Anniversary!
Four long years with this guy.
They have been pretty good.
And I'll tell you the secret to our marital bliss: separate toothpastes.
